Raceland Gold Edition made by Spark. Exclusive model.

When the German Zakspeed team decided to join Formula 1 it was a big adventure as they had the ambition of building both chassis and turbo engine by themselves. A mammoth task for the small Niederzissen based team. The FISA made an exemption from the rules and allowed Zakspeed to attend only the European races of 1985 so Jonathan Palmer and the Zakspeed 841 gave their debut at Portugal. When Palmer crashed heavily in a Group C Porsche at Spa - just one day before Stefan Bellof died at the same track - Erich Zakowski was without a driver.

At that time Christian Danner was leading the International F3000 Championship and gladly followed Zakspeed's call to race the 841 F1 at the Belgian Grand Prix. Although the Munich's F1 debut ended with a broken engine after 17 laps at Spa and the Zakspeed turbo blew at the following race at Brands Hatch, the German team had provided the evidence of being fit for Formula 1. For Christian Danner a start in F1 had been made and the Bavarian re-joined Zakspeed for the 1987 season.
