The time of the Porsche 962C seemed to be over in 1989 and the factory had already withdrawn from the World Sports Car Championship. But Swiss Walter Brun continued to rely on the proven Group C concept from Stuttgart and had a whole series of aerodynamically modified new cars built by Thompson in England in order to keep pace with Jaguar, Mercedes and the Japanese factories. At the season opener in Suzuka, the private Swiss team competed with three brand new Porsche 962Cs. At the first European WSC round at Dijon, chassis #006BM - BM for Brun Motorsport – made its racing debut in Eterna colours.
Oscar Larrauri and Stanley Dickens qualified the car in 15th positions of the huge total grid of 36 cars. The Eterna Porsche was given a new front nose for the race, but Larrauri ended his stint early with an accident. This damage could not be repaired until the 24 Hours of Le Mans three weeks later and so #006BM only reappeared later in the year as a Jägermeister car in the Supercup and in the World Championship. After another accident at the end of the season, the racing career of this young Porsche 962C came to an end. The Eterna livery remained a one-off design and it was not until 2000 that the damaged car was completely restored in Jägermeister colours.
