Raceland Gold Edition made by Spark. Exclusive model.
There are many drivers in Formula 1 history who have only raced one single Grand Prix in their career. Still the story of Hans Heyer's only Formula 1 race at the German Grand Prix at Hockenheim in 1977 is simply bizarre and unique in the history books. With the support of his touring car sponsor Mampe Heyer had convinced ATS boss Günther Schmid to enter a second car for his home race. 17th after the second free practice was promising but technical problems in qualifying excluded him from the race. At least the regulations said so but Heyer had a plan and many friends in the Hockenheim pitlane.
When Sunday afternoon came and the race was started a yellow ATS suddenly emerged from the pitlane to follow the field and race the German Grand Prix of 1977! After the race control had not noticed the illegal car Heyer fought his way from the end of the grid to 19th position after nine laps without being black-flagged. Then his gear lever broke and ended one of the most unusual Formula 1 races ever.
