The unforgettable 1970s - there would not be a better title for this unique photo volume of the Belgian photographer Thierry Borremans. It was for sure a pleasure for Jacky Ickx to write the foreword for this phantastic photo volume which keeps the wild and crazy years of touring car racing between 1970 and 1974 alive.
The quality of the large size photos is captivating. But it is not only the focus of the large size racing scenes. The Belgian photographer also captured all the personalities of the time in the paddock and the pits. From young Stuck to Chris Amon, Jacky Ickx, Emerson Fittipaldi, Jackie Stewart, Jochen Mass or Niki Lauda and the rather rare touring car appearances of e.g. James Hunt.
Apart from the usual suspects of BMW, Ford, Alfa Romeo or Opel you will be pleased by the rare photos of touring cars from Fiat, Lancia, Datsun, Toyota or even Volkswagen. A fantastic mixture of high quality photography from a unique archive. The only French captions do not bother at all as race tracks, cars and driver names are international. We love this book.
Archive and author: Thierry Borremans, hardcover large scale format 30 x 30 cm, 400 pages, more than 600 photos mainly black and white, captions in French.
