When James Glickenhaus decided to build a hypercar to compete in the WEC and thus in the prestigious 24H race at Le Mans, he had already gained some experience of running his own constructions at the Nürburgring. Building an LMH car, however, was much more complex and so he recruited a lot of external help. The chassis and electronic parts came from Podium Advanced Engineering in Turin. The powerful V8 was assembled by rally engine specialists Pipo Moteurs in France from two four-cylinder blocks from the Hyundai i20 WRC engine. In 2021, the David versus Goliath battle began.

David, in the shape of the beautiful SCG 007 LMH, had to assert himself against the superiority from Japan in the shape of the Toyota GR010 Hybrid. The American team around former filmmaker James Glickenhaus was not able to achieve a victory, but his cars showed consistency and made it across the finish line in 4th and 5th place. In the 90th edition of the 24H of Le Mans 2022, the two hypercars from Sleepy Hollow (NY) did not show any weakness either and at least beat Alpine's discontinued model in the hypercar class. The best-placed Glickenhaus with Ryan Briscoe, Richard Westbrook and Franck Mailleux at the wheel even made it onto the podium.
