Raceland Gold Edition made by Spark. Exclusive model.

The World Championship for Makes of 1978 consisted of eight rounds including many traditional endurance classics such as the 1000 km Nürburgring at the famous Green Hell track. While the privately entered Porsche 935 Turbo dominated Division 1 BMW sought their fortune on the World Makes title in Division 2 with an armada of 2-litre normally aspirated BMW 320 Group 5 cars privately entered as country teams in different designs and liveries. Faltz-Alpina had contracted Hans-Joachim Stuck and Markus Höttinger for their black BMW 320: a perfect mixture of pure Nürburgring experience and the sheer speed of the young Austrian talent.

With lap times just over 8 minutes in qualifying the quick duo left no doubt that they were well prepared for the Nordschleife battle. The 1000 kilometres had been split into two heats of 22 long laps each with a two hour break for repairs. In heat one the Lumitas car finished 5th overall winning the 2-litre division. In the addition of both heats Stuck and Höttinger had achieved a fantastic 6th overall finish – beaten only by five mighty 3-litre Turbo Porsches – and had scored 20 valuable points for BMW in the World Championship.
